The Company’s Drug and Alcohol Abuse Policy applies to all employee of the company.
The misuse of legitimate drugs, or use, possession, distribution or sale of illicit or non-prescribed controlled drugs on board ships cannot be condoned and prohibited. In addition, any use of prescribed controlled drug, which causes or contributes to unacceptable job or unusual job behaviour must be reported to a superior. The user must be excused from duty until such time as he is repatriated or treated.
DRUGS
The misuse of legitimate drugs or the use, possession, distribution or sale of illicit or non- prescribed controlled drugs at premise by employee or other personnel visiting the ship is strictly prohibited.
The company will not employ/engage any person who is user of or has recent record of the use of illegal drugs or have abused the use of prescribed drugs. Any employee found in contravention of the company’s drug policy will be dealt with either by compulsory counselling, suspension of duties pending further investigations, dismissal or will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for prosecution.
ALCOHOL
The company enforces zero alcohol tolerance thus nil consumption of alcohol while on duty at SM EXPLORER SDN BHD premises or on duty at client’s premises. The consumption and possession of alcohol during working hours is strictly prohibited. Any employee found to be violating the ALCOHOL policy will be terminated.
All employees are subjected to random testing and screening for drugs and alcohol abuse during working hours by Company.
Business Use:
The Email system is to be used solely for business purposes of the company not for personal purposes of the employees
Ownership
All information and massages that created, sent, received or stored on the Company’s email system is the sole property of the Company.
Email Review
All email is subject to the right of the Company to monitor, access, read, disclose, and use such email without prior notice to the organisation and recipient of such email. Email may be monitored and read by authorised personnel for the Company for any violations of law, breeches of company policies, communication harmful to the Company, or for any other reason.
Prohibited Content
Emails may not contain statements or content that are rebellious, offensive, harassing, illegal, derogatory or discriminatory. Foul, inappropriate or offensive massages such as racial, sexual or religious slurs or jokes are strictly prohibited. Sexually explicit massages or images, cartoons or jokes are prohibited.
Security
The email system is only to be used by authorised persons and an employee must have been issued and email password in order to use the system. Employees shall not disclose their codes or password to others and may not use someone else’s code or password without express written authorisation from the Company
No Presumption of Privacy
Email communication should not be assumed to be private and security cannot be guaranteed. Highly
confidential or sensitive information should not be sent through email.
Certain Prohibited Activities
Employees may not, without the Company’s express written authorisation transmits trade secrets or other
confidential, private or proprietary information or
materials through e-mail.
Massage Retention and Creation
Employees should be careful in creating email. Even when a massage has been deleted, it may still exist in
printed version, be recreated from back-up system or may have been forwarded to someone else. Please take
note that appropriate electronic messages may need to be saved. And the Company may report to (computer systems administrator).
Viruses
Any files downloaded from email received from Non-Company sources must be scanned with the Company’s virus detection software. Any viruses, tempering or system problems should be immediately reported to (computer system administrator).
Consequences of violations
Violations of this policy or other company policies may result in discipline, suspension or termination of
employment.
It is the Company’s policy that in executing all out activities, we shall be responsible and committed to protect the environment and use material and energy efficiently to provide our services.
To satisfy our objective, the following strategies on waste management shall be applied:
Reduce at Source - Using and discarding less material generally, segregating waste and asking supplies to take back packaging and reusable containers.
Re-use and Repair - Passing on to others re-usable chemicals and equipment no longer required and repairing in preference to replacing
equipment where appropriate.
Recycle - Separating materials for recycling such mixed waste paper, schedule waste, metal printer consumables and waste from electrical and electronic equipment.
Responsibly Dispose - Complying with the Environment Quality Act & Regulation 1974.
Wastes that cannot be eliminated shall be stored until suitable treatment or disposal route becomes available. Storage shall be provided so as to prevent health or safety hazards to personnel or threat to the environment.
The company is committed to continuous improvement of waste management practice and a reduction in the proportion of waste send to landfill. We shall take every opportunity to minimise avoidable waste to ensure that materials no longer required are managed according to industry best practice.
The Company believes the Health, Safety & Environment as well as the welfare of its employees are of paramount importance. It is the policy of the company to ensure that Road Transport risk exposure is properly managed so as to protect the interest of all who are directly or indirectly involved. This policy shall be complied with by all employees and contractor staff and the requirements of the RTP shall be implemented in all locations.

Reduce the number of incidents and injuries.
Reduce exposure to road hazards.
Ensure drivers competency and asset integrity.

Drug and Alcohol -Drivers shall not operate a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, narcotics or medication that could impair the.

The company recognizes that uncontrolled smoking of cigarettes is a fire hazard and also harmful to the smokers and non-smokers through passive smoking. It is the Company’s objective to prevent fire incidents, maintain good health for all individuals and discourage smoking at work site and in office premises under the Company’s control.

Office - Designated smoking area
Workshop - Designated smoking area next to the workshop.
On Site - Designated smoking area provided by the company.
On Board Vessel - Designated smoking area provided by the Master / Vessel.
